FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
1. How do I become a member? A Username and Password is created when you go through checkout for your first purchase. After you have completed filling in your address details, create a username and password. When you return for your next purchase, you can just login and all your details are already in the system (credit card details are not saved, you will need to re-enter them each time)
2. It won't accept the purchase unless I type in a username and password. To complete the purchase, you need to create a username and password, so you just have to make one up. Then you can go to the next stage of the purchase. You don't have to have a username & password already. Just next time you visit the site, you can login in with the username & password you created after your first purchase with Exotic Footwear and all your name and delivery details are already in our database.
3. Can I have the order by Friday? No, not unless your are purchasing from our Clearance range. All Clearance items are available for immediate delivery. Generally, all orders take about 2 weeks to fulfill. WA and North Queensland residents may take a bit longer. We can sometimes get them in quicker, but not always. If you need the order by a certain date, please check with us first before placing the order to avoid disappointment.
4. Can I exchange the shoes if they are the wrong size? Our returns policy can be found in fine print on the bottom of the main page. As all shoes are in US sizing, it is recommended that you check the size chart first to make sure you order the right size size as exchanging can take a while, however, the sooner you let us know, the quicker the replacement can be organised.
5. Is the clothing in Australian sizes? The latexwear comes in small, medium, large and extra-large. Go by what you would normally buy as if you were buying a t-shirt or something similar here. With the PVC, I have converted the sizes for you already. The garment may show a different size, but your Tax Invoice will show a conversion for you. For example, if you ordered a size 12 PVC dress, you receive it and it says 14 on it. As these garments are imported from the UK, this will be the UK size. Your invoice will say "Size: AU12 (UK14)" If for any reason the garment doesn't fit, we will exchange it. We don't issue refunds for incorrect sizing. We just exchange them.
6. Do you have a store or showroom? At this point in time we do not have a showroom. If fittings are needed you can contact our office for an appointment. The only time our products will be on display is during the Melbourne & Sydney Sexpos.
7. Can I place an order by phone? While we'd prefer you place the order online, some people would rather do it by phone. Call 1300-663-861 to place your order by phone. Advise if you'd like to pay by credit card or bank transfer. You can also pay for your order by credit card over the phone if you prefer to. 8. How much is delivery to (city): Delivery is a flat $11.00 for the first item, then an extra $3.00 for each item after that. 7 items or more generates free delivery. The system only takes up to 15 transactions. If you purchase 16 or 17, it will start charging you the $11.00 again. Don't worry, this is refunded to you when your order is sent out. We use Toll-Ipec for some deliveries and Australia Registered Post for others. If you wish to have the delivery sent by courier please advise in Delivery Note, esp if you are ordering boots.
9. Can I pick the order up? Sure, just call us to organise a time for pick up. Any delivery charges will be refunded on collection.
10. What is the difference between Patent, PU, Stretch and Leather material? Patent, either patent leather or patent pu, the latter being a man made material, has a very shiny, almost mirror like appearance. Pu, short for polyurethane, is a semi-shiny to non-shiny man made material designed to be less expensive than leather. Stretch, either patent or pu, is a thin, stretchable material, which allows it to fit to the contours of the feet or legs. Leather, usually having a supple and comfortable feel and with a texture pattern, is the highest quality material of all used in shoemaking.
11. How do you convert a man’s shoes size to a lady’s shoes size? All Shoes fit differently. As these are US Sizes, the best rule to go by is to add 3 to the man’s size. If the size is men’s 9, then add 3 to become 12. If you are still a little unsure or hesitant, please email us or call us and we will help you determine the right size.
12. How do you convert Australian Sizes to US sizes? For the ladies, we tend to just work on the simple rule of add 1. If you are a ladies size 7, then you just add 1 and get a size 8. If you have a wider than normal foot, sometimes its wise to 2 sizes higher, if you are not sure about sizing, please email us and we will help you out. 13. How can I change batteries on light-up shoes? Peel up the silver sock lining material where the ball of the foot touches, carefully remove the lighting mechanism, replace the old battery with the new one, place it back, and, using hair dryer, blow hot air at the back of the sock lining material where the glue was for a few seconds, then firmly press it back.
14. How do I remove items inserted in the TipJar shoes? How do I decorate the Treasure styles? Treasure Chest and the Tip Jars styles have a compartment right at the arch area. This is where they are accessible for both styles. So for the Treasure Chest you can put what you want in the shoes to decorate them if they are clear or the solid ones just to hold things and on the Tip Jar you can remove the money this way too.
15. Do you have a Catalogue? New catalogues are now available. While no priselists are ready for them yet all catalogues are in full colour. You can now find them under Accessories and in Catalogues. There are 6 to choose from or you can buy a pack of 3 to save money.
16. Do you offer wholesale? We no longer offer wholesale. Current accounts will be unaffected.
17. Do you have a shop in NSW, QLD, WA, SA, TAS, NT & ACT ? Exotic Footwear does not have any shops or agents located outside of Melbourne. A Showroom is now available to those who require personalised service and/or discretion. Appointment is neccessary. Telephone & SMS orders are also welcome by contacting us on the telephone numbers provided on the "Contact Us" Page. Exotic Footwear does have a stand at Melbourne & Sydney Sexpo yearly.
18. Do you issue Gift Vouchers? Exotic Footwear at this point in time does not offer Gift Certificates or vouchers. It is on the cards and we hope to have a system in place sometime in 2008. Alternative arrangements can be made if you really would like to treat that special person, please contact management.

20. I've accidentally purchased the wrong size. That's ok, just send us an email asap with the size you want so we can correct it on your order. Note: any orders with size 4 or 5 will be queried as a precaution.
21. Are you guys doing Sexpo in my city? Exotic Footwear does Melbourne & Sydney Sexpo every year. Melbourne is usually held in November and Sydney is held in July. There are no plans to do other states.
22. Do you have a Loyalty program? Yes we do. If you buy often from us you may get nominated for a discount on your account which stays permantly unless you decide to close the account. Discount percentage depends on how much you spend each time and how often. Discounts vary between 5% - 15%, and are subject to increases.
23. Where is my order? If you have not received your order in the time frame as stated on our "about us" page. Please contact us. It is possible your order is on backorder although we do our best to contact you if we are unable to get your item within 2 weeks. |
